Been a while, sorry: Housing Assignments
Wow, I remember saying I’d keep this blogging thing up…failed…Anywho, just got my housing assignments yesterday. I got a single in an all freshman dorm: John Jay. It was my 3rd choice so I wasn’t too excited at first but I’m starting to warm up to the idea. Privacy, down time will be nice. I wanted a roommate but ultimately I think everything worked out for the best....

EDC!
So I went to EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) on Saturday…and IT WAS EPIC. I saw oodles of my favorite artists: Major Lazer (Switch + Diplo), Kaskade, Benny Benassi, and Diplo. M.I.A. made a cameo during Diplo’s set which was INCREDIBLE, and I even found a great new artist named James Zabiela.  God what a night. We got all decked out for the shows and went nuts. And I went with such a...

Pilgrimage to MOCA
What. A. Day. Honestly, I haven’t felt this exhausted from a day of festivities in a while.  Ben, Angela and Sarah came over to watch the Brazil v. South Africa game today (Brazil won but SA put up quite a fight); we watched the first half at my house and then the second while dining in an awesome Argentinian cafe near my house on their big screen! Twas great.   Afterwards, Kelly and...

Columbia Summer Advising Session...
Ok, so I went to the Columbia Summer Advising Session for admitted students tonight…BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME. We proceeded to go through every requirement in The Core, IN FULL DETAIL. Why can’t these children go and do a little research? I finally got some one on one time with an Advisory Dean which was nice (although she was cray cray…from Seattle, barely comes to L.A., one of those nutters that...

Damn the US soccer team.
I can’t believe they beat Spain, easily one of the best teams in the world…Not to worry though. Brazil will DESTROY them. It will be merciless, and unlike some stupid Egyptian and Spanish side, the Brazillian team will make sure they win.

Oopsies
What a day of good, wholesome fun! Today, Lauren, Angela, Benny, Sarah and I went to LACMA and saw some collections. I brought my camera (with my new lens) and we explored a bit.  I believe we’re going to MOCA on Thursday, so that will be nice. I’m digging this new museum binge.

Egypt ftl...
I can’t believe it. You know how before I was talking about how the US would never in a million years advance to the knockout stages in the Confederations Cup because the odds were stacked against them? Well they did…HOW YOU SAY? I’m still reeling from the shock of Egypt’s loss to America 3:0. 3 TO 0! Egypt, having almost beat Brazil 4:3 after a last minute penalty set them...

Blue Team FTW
So, yesterday was my 18th birthday. I had an incredible time and I thank my friends for that. My friend Leah graciously gave up her house to throw a little shindig for me; most of my closest friends were able to make it. People brought cake, gifts, and we had an intense few rounds of Taboo. Some had previous dinner engagements so left for a bit but I went shopping with a few of my buds to kill...

18
Today is my 18th birthday!  I am legally an adult. I can: vote, get sued, handle legal documents, go to some clubs, by cigarettes, go to war, etc. I usually don’t feel any different than the day before I turn a certain age, but I guess the legal significance of this day for me certainly alters my state of mind. I wonder if today will knock some sense into my parents, and they’ll...

Uh oh...
So, protests in Iran haven’t really slowed down, but Iranian leaders, specifically the Ayatollah, have said that if demonstrations don’t stop soon, they’ll have to order the police and military to forcibly suppress the protests (more so than what they’ve already been doing).   Moussavi, now, is unfortunately faced with a pretty tough decision: do you keep fighting and fuel...

Creative?
So i was watching BBC and apparently Mexican officials found cocaine in one ton of frozen shark carcasses? That is outrageous. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8104397.stm

So our president is such a g. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/8105232.stm However, I would never have expected BBC to report on a subject as insignificant as this…

Egypt
Oh snap, Egypt upset Italy 1:0!  I knew they were a formidable team but beating the reigning world champs? Bravo. Sunday’s going to be epic: Italy v. Brazil (Italy needs to win this to advance to the final four but…it’s Brazil, so that’ll be hard) and because of Egypt’s win today, the U.S. could still qualify for the knockout stages…but, only if they beat the...

Futból
Watch the Confederations Cup.  It’s like a mini preview to the World Cup in 2010.  The games have been pretty darn good so far; I’m praying for an upset of the top dogs though (Brazil, Spain, Italy, etc.) by the underdogs (South Africa, Egypt, Iraq, etc.).  Egypt gave Brazil quite a run for their money the other day (4:3.Brazil won with a last minute penalty). Let’s see how the...
